Hope everyone been keeping cool these long hot days in July. Usually we don't get the long hot days till August, but sometimes mother nature provides an inspiration for artist. Here is one of my new pieces called St, Louis Summer. I started the piece back in early June when everything was lush and green. I did not finish it till after the 4th of July. In a month the landscape that I was painting from changed so much, that I had to put it in my piece. I how you enjoy! Now I am off to finish a couple more pieces for Juried Art Shows coming up. Crossing fingers on getting in.

Well the temperature is hot in St. Louis, but there are cool colors to look at in the landscape. The flowers right now are blooming with a variety of colors with a lush green background even though some plants are wilting from the extreme heats. I aim to paint at different times of the day to view the changes of natural light on the landscape from dawn to dusk. Along with the outside inspirations I have also been trying to mix mediums in my art work. Combining different medium is another whole challenge for me, but I know it will turn out great in the long run. As always keep cool and happy painting! |

I am exhibiting a piece at Art Saint Louis in their Blur Exhibitions. The piece is called Springtime Views and was created during early spring of this year. The opening was June 9th, and the crowd at Art Saint Louis was amazing of how many people came out to see the art work! My piece will be up till July 24th. So if you get a chance stop by Art Saint Louis and see the Blur exhibition, you will not be disappoint! |
